2. Products & Personalization

HANKO JAPAN offers personalized Japanese seals, digital products, and related services.

Our physical Hanko products are made to order according to the name, characters, or design specified by the customer. Customers are responsible for reviewing and providing accurate personalization details before placing an order.

We make every effort to display product descriptions, materials, colors, and images accurately. However, minor differences in appearance, wood grain, natural materials, and engraving details may occur.

Such natural variations do not necessarily constitute defects. This does not affect your statutory rights concerning defective or incorrectly supplied products.

3. Orders & Cancellations

Placing an order constitutes an offer to purchase. Orders are subject to acceptance and payment confirmation.

We may decline or cancel an order for legitimate reasons, including product unavailability, suspected fraud, incorrect pricing, or an inability to fulfill the requested personalization.

If we cancel an order that has already been paid for, we will issue a refund for the cancelled items.

As our Hanko products are personalized, production may begin shortly after an order is confirmed. Changes or cancellations may not be possible once production has started.

Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to modify or cancel an order.

4. Pricing & Payment

Prices are displayed in the currency applicable to your selected market and confirmed at checkout.

We reserve the right to change product prices and promotions without prior notice. Such changes will not affect orders that have already been accepted.

Payments are processed through the payment providers available at checkout, including Shopify-supported payment services.

Shipping charges and applicable taxes are displayed at checkout where relevant. International import duties, VAT, and customs clearance fees are generally not included unless expressly stated.

5. Shipping & Customs

Our physical products are prepared and shipped from Japan. Production and delivery times vary depending on the product and destination.

All delivery estimates are provided for guidance and are not guaranteed arrival dates.

International shipments may be subject to import duties, VAT, or customs clearance fees imposed by the destination country. These charges are generally the responsibility of the recipient, unless otherwise stated or required by applicable law.

Refusal to pay applicable import charges or accept delivery does not automatically entitle the customer to a refund. Any resulting costs will be handled in accordance with our policies and applicable law.

6. Returns & Refunds

Because our physical Hanko products are made to order and personalized, returns or exchanges for changes of mind or personal preferences are generally not accepted.

If your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us so that we can review the issue and arrange an appropriate resolution.

All returns, replacements, and refunds are subject to our Return & Refund Policy and applicable consumer protection laws.

7. Digital Products

Certain HANKO JAPAN products are delivered digitally, including personalized Japanese name certificates and digital seal designs.

Digital products are created according to the information provided by the customer and delivered electronically using the contact details supplied at checkout.

Unless otherwise specified, the purchase of a digital product grants the customer a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the delivered files for personal purposes.

Redistribution, resale, or sublicensing of the original digital files is not permitted without our prior written consent.

Because digital products are personalized, cancellations or refunds may not be available once production or digital delivery has begun, except where required by applicable law or where the product is defective or incorrectly supplied.

8. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the content of this website, including text, photographs, graphics, logos, product presentations, and original designs, belongs to HANKO JAPAN or its respective rights holders.

Such content is protected by applicable intellectual property laws and may not be reproduced, distributed, modified, or used commercially without permission.

Customers retain any rights they hold in names, artwork, or other materials they provide for personalization.

By submitting such materials, customers confirm that they have the necessary rights or permissions for their intended use.

9. Website Use & Restrictions

You agree to use our website and services only for lawful purposes.

You must not:

• Use the website for unlawful or fraudulent activities.
• Infringe the intellectual property or privacy rights of others.
• Submit false, misleading, or unauthorized information.

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Japan, except where mandatory provisions of applicable consumer protection laws require otherwise.

Where permitted by applicable law, disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in Japan.

Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory rights or protections available to consumers under the laws of their country of residence.
